Hotel Icon Autograph Collection by Marriott

It is surprising to know that this luxury hotel is a part of Marriott. I stayed here as a graduation gift to myself when I received my Master’s in 2019. The hotel is located in Downtown Houston and is by far your favorite Marriott hotel, even though you generally prefer Hilton.

The hotel's website describes it as, "Authentic Texas charm meets contemporary luxury in the heart of downtown Houston. At the award-winning Hotel Icon, the storied past and glamorous present brilliantly blend into one uniquely unforgettable guest experience."

When you arrived at the hotel, you found it hard to locate due to the ongoing construction in the area. However, the customer service you received from the hotel staff was divine, and they made your stay comfortable. The check-in process was easy, and the hotel provided fresh fruit infused water and fruit every day, which you found to be a nice gesture.

The check-in and check-out area is a cool memorial of an old bank safe, which is a nod to the hotel's history. You stayed in the "Deluxe Guest Room, 1 King, City View, Whirlpool" suite, which you loved because of the whirlpool. You felt so comfortable in the whirlpool that you almost fell asleep.

The hotel's theme is luxury contemporary, with a lot of vintage and rich elements. The room was very spacious, and the price for the particular room you stayed in was around $150 per night, making it a great value for money.
